It was later revealed that a hired manager\u2014who had the full trust of the owners\u2014was using this setup to siphon off much more money through \u201cexpenses\u201d than his already generous salary. For the owner, this discovery was both surprising and disheartening.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Trust between a company owner and its management is a key asset \u2013 often more valuable than the numbers on a balance sheet.
